What’s a chef to do when he’s had enough of smoky grills, long hours, family drama, relationships, and the chaos of life? Some blokes buy a Harley. Some chase younger women. Kane Vincent? He took a line from a Jason Isbell song — “Find what makes you happy… and do it till you’re gone” — picked up his old Maton, and got stuck into it.

Seven years later, he’s traded kitchen shifts for guitar licks, hauling his music from pubs to parties to festival stages. No longer singing in the kitchen, Kane’s heartfelt songwriting and gritty, soulful vocals recently earned him the 2024 Country On Keppel Talent Search win — a big “I reckon I can do this” moment.

Kane’s songs are grounded in the everyday — the quiet triumphs, ordinary heartbreaks, and sideways glances that make up real life. With a sound that blends folk/pop sensibility, country warmth, and a dash of bluesy grit, he’s the kind of storyteller who makes you lean in a little closer.

His upcoming show at The Agrestic Grocer in Orange is part of a regional tour previewing tracks from his forthcoming debut album, "Spotfires and Second Wives" — an honest, unvarnished look at life, love, and everything that burns in between
